Merycoidodon culbertsoni represents the most common fossil in the White River fauna. It was an oreodon, about 19 inches tall, and looking like a cross between a dog and a pig.

Bathornis, a seriema bird, attained heights of 25 inches. It is shown here eating Glyptosaurus, a small lizard.
