Academic Integrity
Academic integrity is essential to a positive teaching and learning environment. Your instructor expects that all students enrolled in NMU courses will complete their coursework responsibilities with fairness and honesty. Failure to do so by seeking unfair advantage over others or misrepresenting someone else’s work as your own, can result in disciplinary action. Tempted with the demons of PLAGIARISM?
Don’t do it. Your writing is what I want to read. Don’t quote or paraphrase from someone else’s work without citing a reference. The penalties are severe, up to and including suspension from the university. When in doubt, document.  For a thorough treatment of this subject see:
How Not to Plagiarize at www.utoronto.ca/writing/plagsep.html.
